Eton Properties Philippines, Inc. has signed up SM Hypermarket to be its anchor tenant in the commercial center the firm is developing in the mixed-use complex called Centris in Quezon City.

In a press briefing yesterday, Eton president Danilo Ignacio said SM Hypermarket will be located in Centris Station which will serve as the main shopping area for the 12-hectare development project at the corner of EDSA and Quezon Avenue.

SM Hypermarket Centris will be the 14th such store to be established by SM’s retail group which is continuing to expand its operations, said SM Hypermarket executive vice president Robert Kwee.

Ignacio said Centris Station is slated for completion by the fourth quarter next year, giving SM Hypermarket the chance to open in time for Christmas.

“SM Hypermarket will be allowed to fit out by the fourth quarter next year, to prepare them to open before Christmas,” said Ignacio adding that “hopefully, this will forge a long term partnership with SM.”

One Cyberpod Centris, a 12-storey building, has a leasable area of 10,000 sq.m .  Eton plans to build a total of seven mid-rise BPO buildings for the office component.

Ignacio said Eton is already in discussion with a dozen prospective locators for Eton Cyperpod with the remaining buildings to be constructed on a “built-to-suit” basis.

Meanwhile, Centris, Station will be complemented by a Centris Walk, a high-end dining and retail strip that will feature upscale restaurants and bars, as well as retail shops.  Centris Station is slated for completion by the third quarter next year.
